The city was designated one of the cultural capitals of Canada in 2012 and is home to many great festivals, museums, and attractions. Some of these attractions include the Alberta Ballet Company, the Calgary Opera, the Calgary Folk Music Festival, and the Glenbow Museum. The attraction Calgary is best known for is the Calgary Stampede which occurs every year in July and is one of the largest festivals in Canada with over one million people attending over its ten-day span.
